Maverick Ray was born and raised in the Houston area. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University and then went on to pursue his law degree at South Texas College of Law in Houston.
While at South Texas, Maverick excelled academically, graduating number five in his class and finishing a semester early. He was assured of his life calling while studying criminal trial tactics with the esteemed Judge Lawrence Gist. Under Judge Gist’s guidance, Maverick gained a feel for the courtroom and began to learn the art of successful persuasion. Maverick interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent over a year gaining insight into the criminal process. During this time, Maverick tried numerous cases before juries and judges, argued motions to suppress, handled multiple hearings, and argued motions for new trials. One recurring theme during all his trial experience – Winning. Maverick never lost a case despite going up against the top defense attorneys in Texas.
In June 2013 Maverick founded and started Maverick Ray & Associates. He has over 10 years of trial experience. Cindy Bridges was raised in the Corpus Christi area. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston and then went on to pursue her law degree at South Texas College of Law in Houston. While at South Texas, Cindy became a Langdell Scholar and finished a semester early.
After graduating, Cindy pursued her passion of becoming a criminal trial attorney. In 2002, Cindy began her career with the Williamson County Attorney’s Office. After learning the fundamentals, Cindy earned a job as a prosecutor with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. During the decade she served as a Prosecutor she tried many cases ranging from Capital Murder to Driving While Intoxicated. Throughout her time in Montgomery County, she raised through the ranks to Felony Chief Prosecutor, and spearheaded the Internet Crimes against Children Division. While in Montgomery County, Cindy was sought after to present to the local community and law enforcement on her knowledge and experience. She was awarded the Top Trial Prosecutor Award and the Distinguished Service Award. During this time, she also served as a Judge with the Splendora Municipal Court.
In 2012, Cindy achieved the honor of becoming Board Certified in Criminal Law. She has maintained this achievement throughout the last decade. Then in 2015, Cindy was offered a State Prosecutor job with the Special Prosecution Unit. During her term she homed in on perfecting her trial skills and knowledge throughout the State of Texas. Cindy’s main location of practice was in Brazoria and Fort Bend County. During her time as a State Prosecutor, she continued to go to trial on Capital Murder seeking Death, Solicitation of Capital Murder, Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant, among others. With over 20 years of prosecution experience and almost 100 jury trials under her belt, Cindy has built a reputation of a knowledgeable aggressive trial attorney.
In 2023, Cindy went into private practice as a criminal defense lawyer and joined Maverick Ray and Associates. Her experience and reputable career as a former prosecutor bring valuable knowledge of criminal law from both sides. Alexis A. Gonzalez is from Edinburg, Texas located in the Rio Grande Valley. She received her Bachelor Degree in Interpersonal Communication Professional Writing at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During her time in college, she interned with the congressman of the 21st district and worked for a personal injury defense firm.
She went on to pursue her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law while clerking for a probate firm and representing clients as the lead student attorney in the Family Law Clinic.
After law school, Alexis joined a prominent personal injury firm in downtown Houston where she developed and litigated motor vehicle accident cases against unfair insurance companies.
From the onset of her career, she has quickly and aggressively represented clients through high-stakes product liability, premise liability, and wrongful death cases—traveling to over 10 counties statewide in advocacy for those impacted by their life-altering events. With a commitment to thorough preparation and keen understanding of her clients' needs, Alexis brings a depth of fresh insight and dedication that keeps her in rooms with seasoned attorneys.
